Kofax Image Products (714-727-1733) has introduced Ascent Capture 3, a software application that combines production document capture, data capture and Internet-based distributed capture in a single product.
Ascent Capture 3's form processing features eliminate forms sorting into form and non-form batches that have to be processed by different applications. Its data capture capabilities automatically recognize forms and increase the amount of data that can be automatically extracted from paper documents. The Internet-based distributed capture facility means you no longer have to ship documents from remote offices to a central location for processing.
Another plus is its form recognition feature. While most data capture vendors recommend redesigning forms, Kofax claims it's new form recognition feature will use your existing forms.
Scan station licenses range from $900 to $14,000 and Internet server licenses are in the $7,500 to $25,000 range.
